What makes training at Soul of Kung Fu different?

My classes aren't about burning yourself out — they're about gathering energy.

You don't learn to be "better than others". You find your own path in the art. Instead of drills and rigid rules, you experience a living practice that brings together body work, attention, and partner training.

No rigid syllabus. No competitions. No performance pressure.

What you learn

Guiding Qi consciously

Learn to use Qi as a traditional training language for attention, breathing and connected movement.

Geng in motion

Structure, rootedness and softness come together in a calm, powerful expression — without muscular force.

Self-defense

Practical applications from Wuzu Quan — direct feedback, realistic situations, full attention.

Why inner Kung Fu?

Many people practice combat sports — very few discover the true essence of internal martial arts. Here you learn real Kung Fu from within: feel Qi, develop Yi, calm Shen.

Instead of exhausting workouts, the focus is concentrated work with movement, breathing and traditional Qi principles.
Instead of show and competition, you work on body control, confidence and inner strength.

Our roots trace back to the Shaolin tradition of South China. Wuzu Quan unites practical self-defense with deep inner work.

Wuji Quan takes it further: absolute softness, clarity, and relaxation — like wind or water.

Other internal styles we teach and practise here include Bagua Zhang, Xingyi Quan, Yi Quan, Taiji Quan, Tongbei Quan, and Pigua Zhang.

The foundation of my work

The 5 principles of my teaching

  1. 01

    Individual coaching over one-size-fits-all

Everyone is different. Whether you are a beginner or have already tried many styles, I meet your experience where it is. Pace, intensity and personal focus are built appropriately together. If you have acute symptoms, seek appropriate professional guidance on what range is suitable before joining.

  2. 02

Focus on Qi, Yi, and Shen

Instead of surface-level movement sequences, you explore the traditional internal principles:

    • Qi: work with the concept of internal power
    • Yi: focus intention and attention
    • Shen: practise stillness and presence in motion
  3. 03

    Real martial art, not performance

What you learn is usable. No artificial forms or audience choreography — just honest techniques with depth from Wuzu Quan, Wuji, Vee Arnis Jiu-Jitsu, and complementary styles.

  4. 04

    No belts — only progress

No belt ladder, exams, or trophies. What counts is your inward path. You train for yourself — not for a badge.

  5. 05

    Training for life

Technique, intensity, and complexity are built step by step. Many students are 50+ and train alongside younger adults. This isn't a youth trend; it is an art you can deepen over many years.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this Kung Fu and martial arts school. Christian brings not only decades of experience but also a calm and enthusiasm that is rare to find these days. He takes his time, explains techniques clearly, and caters to each student individually. The atmosphere is both motivating and respectful – you simply feel welcome, whether you're training for the first time or have been for years. Anyone who wants to experience Kung Fu and holistic martial arts will find a fantastic place here.

I was accepted into the class without any prior knowledge. At the beginning, I was shown how to avoid conflict situations through careful observation and appropriate action. Christian places great emphasis on de-escalation. In the first few sessions, I was taught the basics of self-defense techniques to effectively protect myself from physical attacks. I especially appreciated that Christian adapted the pace of his instruction to my comprehension and learning ability. Since I am unfortunately confronted with physically intimidating behavior at work on a regular basis, I was able to clearly see my own progress in conflict situations. I reacted to these situations, which I found threatening, with more composure and self-confidence. I was surprised myself at how much my sense of security grew after just a few practice sessions. I highly recommend Christian's classes for protecting your physical boundaries.

A highly recommended school for martial arts and Qi Gong, even though it's quite new. The classes are taught by a very experienced instructor who brings around four decades of experience and enthusiasm to various martial arts and techniques, which is clearly reflected in the training. His holistic approach is evident in his outlook on life and his attitude towards "fighting" in general. At the same time, the training is also playful and relaxed. Overall, an excellent place for anyone who wants to gain something both technically and personally.

Toller Qi Gong Unterricht! Lehrer mit viel Erfahrung, kann man nur Empfehlen! Ich hab schon vor 25 Jahren bei ihm trainiert, jetzt ist er nochmal weicher, flüssiger, präziser, kraftvoller.

My approach — the path inward

Hi, I'm Christian — I've taught internal martial arts for over 20 years.

I received my first black belt in Wuzu Quan in 1999, a style that has formed the heart of my teaching ever since. Since 2001 I've focused on Wuji Qigong, realistic self-defense, and additional arts I've collected over many years.

I have studied over 30 fighting styles worldwide — and am still developing. From judo and karate to taiji, wuzu, and wuji to tongbei, systema, and Vee Arnis jujitsu — my system grows constantly in depth and breadth.

My philosophy: I combine the best principles and techniques, pressure-test them, and pass them on individually — without mindless imitation.

My classes are 100% tailored to you.

Everyone brings different strengths, interests, and body types, so there's no fixed syllabus:

  • If Baji resonates with you, we start there.
  • Interested in weapons work? No problem.
  • Interested in calm movement and internal principles? We go deeper into Wuji and Qigong.

The common foundation is Wuzu Quan (Five Ancestors), uniting internal power, precision, agility, and practical self-defense.

What matters to me: techniques must be understandable, applicable, and realistic, with no show and no ego.
